20/25 H.P. CLUTCH.

Visit to CRICKLEWOOD, O.T. 12/13th.

Two customers cars were in with clutch complaints.

G.O.H - 3. Halperin. Delivery Aug. 1935.
This customer had destroyed 4 clutches in 33,137 miles, one had only lasted 2,869 miles.

G.H.G - 27. Eckstein. Delivery July, 1935.
This customer had destroyed 3 clutches in 10,148 miles, one under 3,000 miles.

Both cars were dismantled on my arrival, and both had the facings worn down to the rivets and driven plates worn and distorted.

We fitted Cleveland Graphite Bronze facings and new standard driven plates. The following day I tested OHG.27 for about 30 miles, giving it moderately severe slipping, ( but not the punishment given to 17-G-IV). The take-up remained smooth and silent and free from slip, the take-up time, against racing engine at full throttle being under 2 seconds.

N. have made a special note to report to us any future clutch complaints with these two cars.

Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/NRO.
