Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}7/ML.26.4.40. 1/28 MARINE ENGINES. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} tells me that they have called for a modification to the crankcase on the marine engines in order to enable the starter motor to be installed. He is sending a print through showing what this means and we have got to consider whether we can make this modification to existing crankcases, or whether, after we have got the necessary aluminium castings, we shall have to modify the pattern of the aluminium S to make our marine units in cast-iron.
