Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/AW. c. to Mr.Hardy. 1300 RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/EG.10/DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions} 25.10.37. F.61285. Roller Assemblies. ex. Ransome & Marles. I send you herewith one Roller Assembly F.61285 which gives a preload of 78 inch. ozs. Will you have same despatched to Ransome & Marles for their investigation and comments. It is possible that we are pulling them together on the distance piece somewhat tighter than they are and we find that if we select a distance piece approximately .0005" longer than the one supplied the assembly gives us the required amount of preload viz: 7 to 10 ozs. torque on 4" radius. We find the distance piece is taking a permanent set and suggest Marles try out a stiffer design or a higher brinell. Awaiting reply. Goodall RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/EG. | ||
