664 S/W To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re WXA-1. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}18/E6738 I notice on one or two occasions that I have had trouble in starting the engine when it has been standing on a hill (pointing up the hill). You will remember that after my very first use of the car I complained of flooding under these conditions, which was subsequently cured. I sent Kennett on Monday to make a definite test on Fitzjohn's Avenue. He reports that he stopped for 5 minutes. The engine would not then start with the normal throttle opening. He opened it fully and it started. He switched off again and it would not start with the throttle in the usual position. He opened the throttle, looked under the car and saw that it was flooding. This is something which I think you will wish to investigate as it might cause serious trouble in customer's hands. I told him to repeat the test with the bonnet pointing down hill but he found no trouble under that condition. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} | ||
