We have received your telegram: MAN LEAVING WITH AXLE TUBE TO DAY ASSUME YOU HAVE DISMANTLED CARRY ON TEST WITH THE ORIGINAL BRAKE SHOES CALIBRATE YOUR WATER THERMOMETER. We dismantled the axle straight away and sent you the flange so that you could see the fracture. We assume that you do not wish to use the steel brake shoes, does this apply to the front as well because these are allready fitted bedded and adjusted. RE WATER THERMOMETER The thermometer we fitted was calibrated before fitting same against our standard glass thermometer. We assure you the temperatures are correct that we are giving you. We have had a phone message from Paris informing us that the electrical pumps have arrived. They are forwarding same on to us. We have informed Earl Rothes that we cannot call for him.
