1328 Experimental Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}7/MH.{M. Huckerby} 6th. February, 1939. Messrs. S.Smith & Sons Ltd., Cricklewood Works, LONDON, N.W.2. For the attention of Mr. Eckford. Dear Sirs, We have tested "Hexane" filled calorstat you sent us recently and find that it gives water temperatures of 60°C to 70°C compared with 70°C to 78°C for the standard calorstat. Thus the operating temperatures are approximately 10°C too low with "Hexane". We are returning the "Hexane" calorstat to you in case you have an alternative filling or can modify it to reproduce the standard temperatures. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
