x 967. x967 x7310 x7350 RE GEAR BOXES - PHANTOM II With reference to Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}8/T11.6.30 and By3/G12.6.30 regarding the use of a percentage of Prices Compound mixed with Amber "A" for dynamometer running of gear boxes. Although the Whitmores Compound used for this service was satisfactory, the Prices has been found to be unsuitable owing to its setting up an electrolytic action round the charge speed mechanism bush. Prices has now been discarded for both gear box and axle, and all gear boxes that have been run with a percentage of Prices are being specially cleaned out.
