Dear Mr. Callingham,

Thank you for your letter of the 31st July.

In America I got the impression that the main trouble with these E.P. Lubricants was that they did not retain their characteristics when stored. The point appears to be that the heavy constituents settle down.

The trouble did not occur on the Gleason and Timken tests because the lubricants were always stirred thoroughly before insertion in the axle on test. We should like to know whether your latest product suffers from this disadvantage.

I am letting you have the maximum tooth pressures of our axles as soon as I can get these together.

Yours sincerely,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
