Dear Mr. Hardy,
I am in receipt of your letter of the 8th instant, reference as above, and am glad to hear that you have received the Vauxhall Gear which, by the way, we call the '410' type, and I shall be very interested indeed to hear how it performs on the car.
With regard to the second and third paragraphs of your letter, I have pleasure in enclosing herewith two drawings of the required Cam and Roller, our M.22313 and M.22314, respectively. You will note that there is a slight discrepancy as between the details of the Cam required by your letter and the one we have in hand due to the fact that according to our calculations a Cam of .6" lead will give 3.69 turns for 84 degrees Rocker Shaft and not 3.5 turns. As the discrepancy is so small I have not taken this matter up with you for confirmation but we are proceeding with the manufacture as quickly as possible.
I should like you to appreciate, however, that special tools have to be made, particularly for the Roller, which means that delivery will not be as quick as possibly you would expect. You may rest assured, however, that they will be put through as quickly as possible.
