x4508 Exptl. Dept. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Std.22/KW. 8th May, 1935. Messrs. S. Smith & Sons, Ltd., Cricklewood Works, London, N.W.2. Dear Sirs, Car Thermostat - E.86612. We wish to control the water temperature of one of our engines by means of a thermostat, using bellows as shown on accompanying print E.86612. The temperature conditions which we specify are as follows. Thermostat to commence opening from 1.275" at 75ºC. (± 2º) and to be fully expanded to 1.525" when temperature has reached 82ºC., i.e., have a temperature range of 7ºC. We should like to know whether you can manufacture such a thermostat bellows for us, and also the minimum temperature range you could give us using the dimensions shown on attached print. We should appreciate an early reply. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
