Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager}12/OH. 10.2.44. P.W.C. - Works Order No. 52400. Confirming our conversation this afternoon with regard to Drawing Office equipment for the P.W.C. Job, I herewith give you a list of the equipment required :- Two horizontal drawing boards - 15' 6" long by 5' 6" wide. The thickness should be at least 7/8" and will require suitably battening for stiffness. Four sets of trestles will be required for each board. The height of the boards from the ground should be approximately 2' 10". One Tracers drawing board of the horizontal type. The dimensions being 54" x 32". Six size 5 cabinets - the size of drawers being 42" x 30". Four size 4 " - " " " " " 28" x 21". These cabinets should be capable of having 8 drawers per cabinet. Four size 3 cabinets - the size of the drawers being 21" x 16". The number of drawers per cabinet should be two nests of six, making a total of twelve drawers. Four size 2 cabinets - the size of drawers being 14" x 12". The number of drawers per cabinet should be three nests of six making a total of 18 drawers. Two size 1 cabinets - size of drawers being 11 1/2" x 9". The number of drawers per cabinet should be three nests of ten, making a total of 30 drawers. All these dimensions are internal ones. One dozen draughtsman's back tables. Six Art Metal or Roneo Filing Cabinets - foolscap size. Four card index cabinets, capable of taking cards 6" x 4" with four drawers per cabinet. Six standard size draughtsman's Tan-sad stools, if these are not obtainable, chairs. You will no doubt think that our demands are excessive, but I can assure you that they are the minimum that we can manage with if we are going to remove the drawings etc. from the floor.
