Improved Ride The car with the Citroen suspension is now on the road. It is a useful example of how the Bentley looks with the engine further forward. The parts for the improved steering geometry on 5.B.1V. are ready and as soon as they are fitted the car will be submitted to Sales. Clutch Recommendations have been made to re-introduce the prop. shaft damper as being well worth its weight and cost in reducing transmission rattles. Body with improved entrance. A weight analysis has been submitted to Sales. Overhead camshaft 6 cylinder unit. Development proceeding. A report has been issued to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} shewing recent progress. The chain drive is proving difficult to get quiet. Independent Suspension. Some designs have been issued for the torsion rod Bentley suspension which will be fitted to an existing car when detailed. Bearings Tests proceeding. Results on customers' cars in France, on both whitemetal and Hall's metal bearings, shew that we want more bearing area.
