Hand brake lever clonk on release. A mock up rubber stop has cured this. Scheme GCD.619 is being produced for Wraith B.III and B.50.
Brake drums fouling dust covers when hot. The clearance is not sufficient for the alum drum expansion. It should be alright with the iron brakes.
Front brake idler lever brackets. These were seen to deflect badly under load, owing to the cantilever fixing for the pivot bolts. A modification to the brackets has been called for.
Brake rod sizes. Use of assorted 1/2" and 5/16" rods for taking equal loads was noted. 5/16" rods have been called for throughout as on Jaguar Girling brakes.
Front brake equaliser. This failed in torsion. A stronger equaliser has been called for.
Damper for preventing thumps, A hydraulic damper on the front brake rod was fitted up and proved more effective than the friction damper and also prevented clicks on release. A scheme is being produced. The deletion of the friction damper and rubber off stop will simplify the new servo.
Brake shoe pull off springs. The fixed ends were damaged in fitting. Springs with loose ends had already been called for and these have been fitted to the rear brakes.
