GEARBOX - Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}

Gear lever rattles - cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}
dried up badly.
Items (2) and (3) appear alright on the new gearbox, but item (1) will require attention.
This can await the testing of the box as it is so easily altered.

Second gear.
This jumped out of gear badly and subsequently seized in gear. It is receiving attention.

Propellor Shaft.
Vibration comes in and out with up and down movement of the car.
This has been attributed to exhaust pipe fouling frame but will require further investigation.

BRAKES.

Rear brake geometry.
Rattles have been heard from the rear brakes on very bad roads due to the change in tension of the rear rope. The hand and foot brakes "pump" for the same reason and the rear wheels inclined to dither when braking as the wind up of the axle has also been seen to effect the rope tension. Scheme SCD.580 for an equalizer carried on a long arm off the frame is being produced to overcome this trouble.
