X500a To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}15/KW.20.8.36. 22-G-V.{VIENNA} We want to send a complete steering column and box out to 22-G-V, fitted with our latest ball races, etc. This should be a steering for which we have no excuses. At the same time we ought also to send Hancock a pair of thrust washers with grooves in them like the Bentley, which we have asked By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} to standardise. This matter is urgent. Will you explain to Pope that we do not expect to pay duty on this steering as it will replace the one at present on the car. Therefore to duty should be refundable.
