(d) If down for power under condition (c), investigate reason for same. (e) Try effects of petrol system as per the chassis and whether any starving. Ensure unit is O.K. before passing back for further running in 11.B.V. chassis. W.III No.4 UNIT. Unit fitted with following special features. (a) 3 big end bearings in Vandervell Babbit and 3 in three-layer Vandervell material. (b) Double valve springs (PD.354). (c) Split skirt raised crown pistons (Aerolite). (d) Strengthened exhaust valves (EB.4845). After running in, take induction system comparisons including the trial of the Duplex system and any development work specified by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} Endurance to consist of 25 hours at - Each 10 hrs., 7 hours full load, 30 mins. at 4000, 25 mins. at 4250 and 5 mins. at 4500 r.p.m. 2 hrs. at 1/2 load at 4000 r.p.m. and 1 hour at 1/4 load at 4000 r.p.m. Run on Mot.C. at an oil inlet temp. of 100°C.
