JFB 1/NH KAP/PKD/9 6th April 1960 K.A.Price, Esq., The Caravan Club, New Oxford House, Bloomsbury Way, London W C 1. Dear Mr. Price, Sixth British Caravan Road Rally 29 April/1st May, 1960 In reply to your letter of 4th April, in which you invite me to act as a judge in the Concours d'Elegance section of the forthcoming Caravan Rally at Oulton Park, I should point out, I think, that my qualifications for so doing are rather negligible. I have had little previous experience of gatherings of this kind and my knowledge of Caravans is nil. However, if you will assure me, as did Mr. Heap, that an aesthetic judgement only, of the kind that could be associated with my work as a motor body designer, is sufficient for your needs, then because I cannot help you in suggesting anyone else from our Crewe establishment, I will accept the judging job and also your kind invitation to my wife and myself for lunch at the Blue Cap Hotel, Sandiway. Please do not hesitate to tell me if you should succeed in finding a more suitable candidate for this job. Yours sincerely, J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} P. Blatchley Chief of Styling (Motor Car Division.) | ||
