Bentley Axle - B.4.LS. Mileage 16,205. The axle out of the above car has been sent to the Works by the R.R.lorry. The case is marked SR.952. The complaint was lift in the pinion bearing. Upon dismantling, the cage was found broken and one tooth of the pinion was fractured ( i.e. cracked). I have in mind that the metal of the pinion was faulty and should like your opinion. I should have sent the pinion along separately, but K.{Mr Kilner} had not one in stock to replace it. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} | ||
