contd :- -3- standardisation sheet, we are sending it on to you and BJ. for signature. The difference between Prices and Wakefields oil is that Prices contains a 10% mixture of sperm and lard oil, and Wakefields contains a 50% mixture of cocoanut and castor oil. As we pointed out in our memo., the reason we proposed Wakefields as an alternative is because it is the oil which comes closest to Prices specification and at the same time is easily obtained. Although we may criticise that Wakefields oil does not contain as large a percentage of fatty oils as Prices, at the present time our customers frequently cannot obtain Prices oils and are having to use oils which contain no fatty oils whatever. As an instance, the only oil with any reputation which can be obtained at Hyere or district was Vacuum oil and because of no other oils being obtainable, this oil has been used on Mr. Royce's car. This year however we instructed the driver to try and obtain Wakefields oil, and Wakefields oil we understand can easily be obtained and is now being used on R's car. Wakefields, we know, have special reasons for the composition of this oil and we are asking them to let us have a complete detailed technical account of why they prefer their composition instead of copying Prices. There are no patents on oils. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
