Ne/S1/LG251113. is now no possibility of damaging the transmission shafts by the use of this brake. On page 66 it is stated that the foot brake is less liable to aggravate a skid than the side brakes; we think this note must also be cancelled. We shall be glad to have any interesting remarks on the application of brakes, the adjustment of brakes, and how often you think they should be adjusted. At present the foot brake on the transmission is recommended to be adjusted every 5000 miles, and the rear brakes every 2000 miles. Mr.Royce suggested the following paragraph should be inserted in the book, to which Mr.Johnson agreed except that the word "detonate" must not be used. Kindly let us know if you are in agreement with using the word "knock" as stated - "The engine may be noticed as having a ~~slight~~ tendency to develop a slight knock in combustion chamber, this tendency being greatly increased by the presence of carbon deposit, and can practically be cured by transferring This sheet must be filed with the correspondence to which it refers. | ||
