Front Hubs LOP.G.81673.

G.85155 Chromium drums were in good condition.
General condition of Front Hubs satisfactory.

Cross Steering Tubes G.81942.

General condition satisfactory, although BZ/PD. Pads showed tendencies to pick up.
The poundage was 3 1/2 lbs. - this had been adjusted on Test.
Lubrication was good.

Spring Suspension LOP.G.83747. N.S.4946.

The general condition of this unit was good.
All Levers were magnetically tested and found to be free from cracks.
Ex.26005 Bushes, produced in Bronze, and Ex.26006 Rollers, which replaced needle rollers in the Main Levers, were in good condition. Main Lever Housings Ex.27488/9, produced in Aluminium, were in good condition, although slight fidgetting had occurred; the nuts securing this unit were not tight. Main Lever G.84173 was crack tested and found O.K.
Provision has been made over a long period for Auto Lock Dampers; can a ruling be obtained to delete G.83680 Thimble, as this would eliminate unnecessary machining of Main Lever Housings ?
G.85126 Piston was in good condition. The Coiled Pipe on the Near Side was damaged. Outer springs G.84713 had fouled slightly in the Main Lever Housing.

Free length of springs was as follows :-

Near Side. Off Side.

G.84713. Outer 8.875". Outer 8.875".
G.84714. Inner 10.025". Inner 10.062".

continued.
