X.9410 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to CJ. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} S E C R E T. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M17.9.24. E.A.C.111. FRONT SPRINGS. X.9410 We send herewith N.sch.1845 shewing the layout of the new 12 1/2% front springs with negative camber. There is also indicated a new form of rubber buffer which Mr. Royce would like tried. Mr. Royce would like more rubber on the buffers than we have hitherto had, that is to say, he would like the spring to strike the buffers earlier in the bump. We have accordingly shewn thicker rubber buffers on this drawing, and the best thickness will have to be determined by experiment. This completes the information we are proposing to send you on EAC.3 front springs. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
