RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} 85420 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}7/KT.18.1.33. 25 HP. FRONT AXLE ON J.III. J.III. steering is unselective at high speeds. We think this is due to the fact that the king pin angle has been altered on the front axle from our previous practice on 25 HP. cars. We therefore wish to carry out a test putting a standard 25 HP. front axle on J.III. The only difficulty that we can foresee is with the shock absorbers. We shall have to be content to be without axle control for this test as long as we can have an ordinary tubular connection, which does not seem difficult. We are particularly anxious to make this experiment because we have run into exactly the same trouble on the Bensport, the axle being a scaled down J.III, and the proposed test will indicate how the design should be modified.
