PAGE TWO.

Subsequent to the refusal of Barker's quotation and the placing of the further order with Thrupp & Maberly, Barkers telephoned to say that they would be prepared to accept a contract at the same price as we are paying Thrupp & Maberly. It was, however, too late to give them an order on this occasion, but it is proposed to give their revised offer further consideration the next time it becomes necessary to order more bodies.

3. PARIS SHOW, 1933.

Whr.{Mr Wheeler} explained that, although Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} is in favour of exhibiting on our Stand two 40/50 chassis each mounted with a body by Barker, the Administration consider there ought not to be more than one Barker bodied car shown by us.

The Sub-committee discussed the type of body to be selected. It was agreed that it must be mounted on a Continental type 40/50 chassis, and that whilst a Saloon of the [s]Standardised[/s] type might prove the easiest to sell, should the car have to come back to London after the Show, a Sedanca with a division might make the best appeal in Paris. Consequently it was decided that, provided Barker's price for such a body is not unreasonable, one of this type shall be put in hand.

A preliminary design of such a body was considered. It was thought that, after modification, it would be suitable, and Whr.{Mr Wheeler} will submit it to Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} for his views.

4. OLYMPIA SHOW 1933.

Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} explained that he had a preliminary discussion with O.{Mr Oldham} concerning the cars to be exhibited on our Stand, and that it had been decided to [s]recommend we should[/s] confine our exhibits to Standardised cars. This would mean that Windovers would not be represented. In place of their body, however, would be a [s]Standardised[/s] Saloon by Park Ward & Co. It was suggested that because of the falling off in the business done with us by Windovers and the trouble we have had during the last weight months with their coachwork, they are not entitled to representation, whereas Park Wards have done good business with us over a period of years and their bodies command a ready sale.

The Sub-committee approved in principle of the proposals,
