Dear Sirs,

For the attention of Mr. Robotham.

Oil Valve Thermostat.

We beg to thank you for your letter of the 8th inst, referring to the above instrument, and note that you would like us to make up one experimental sample with the larger bellows.

We are proceeding with this at once and will let you have a drawing on Monday next. For your information, the actual outside diameter of the bellows is 1"/032".

Will you please let us have your part number for this, together with an order.

There is just one point in connection with this modified instrument which needs your consideration and that is that, owing to the greater diameter of the bellows, the drilled channel of the casing adjacent to the bellows is partly obscured, this will not matter if there is no circulation of oil through the bellows chamber but if there is another duct in the bellows chamber the flow of oil will be seriously interfered with.

We take it that the same stem diameter and lift are to be adhered to as before.
