W.A.Robotham Esq,
Messrs Rolls-Royce Ltd,
Derby.

My dear Robotham,

Many thanks for your letter of the 6th instant, re my Bentley car, which I am sorry I have not answered before, but I have been most frightfully busy, and away from the Works a good deal.

I note that since I have had a recurrence of the wheel wobble, my cycle type mudguards must be removed. Would it be possible to get your Body Department to let me know what type of wings they would suggest fitting instead, how long it would take, and what would be the cost. I also presume that I should have some guarantee that if the fitting of new mudguards does not cure the wheel wobble and squeaking brakes, I should not have to pay for them.

With regard to the remarks I made to your Managing Director about the car, I certainly agree that I did make such a statement, and meant it, but unfortunately all my troubles have cropped up between 8000 and 12,000 miles.

With regard to your third paragraph, I suppose everything is a matter of comparison. I hate making complaints and causing trouble, but I cannot refrain from reiterating that during the last four months I have had a lot of irritating troubles with the Bentley, and that I consider that a car of such price and quality must be considered to have some problems if, as in my case, I have got to drive with:-

Head lamps which are quite unsatisfactory, and I think dangerous.

Wheel wobble.

Squeaking brakes.

A noisy engine.

A cracked body, and

A distinct irritating click in the transmission.
