x3117 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bwg.{J. C. Bowring}15/KW. 18th July, 1934. Messrs. S. Smith & Sons, (Motor Accessories) Ltd., Cricklewood Works, LONDON, N.W.2. Attention of C.W. Nichols, Esq. Dear Sirs, JACKALL JACKS. Thank you for your letter S.1 16.7.34. As you explain, the toe-in of the front Jacks is intentional. The reason we criticised this was because on Jacking up the car the front jacks appeared to toe-in rather a lot, and when fully raised the O.S. jack had gone over to such an extent that the top was fouling the frame fairing. However, Mr. Bailey has informed us that you are redesigning the front brackets, which will be necessary for the two-stage Jacks that you are making for us, and which we hope you will be able to supply in the near future. We have had no further trouble with oil leaks or loss of pressure since you fitted the Lockheed flexes. With regard to the longer operating handle Mr. Bailey kindly sent us, this definitely makes the operating of the pump much easier. Thanking you, Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
