-3- Item (11) Servo. Expl. tests are in hand with the driving pins of the servo made in stainless steel to prevent the complaint of rusting and sticking. Results cannot at present be ascertained until further mileage as been added. Item (12) Rear Axle Thrust. We have received very valuable assistance from HWL dealing with the failure of thrust races on the 30/25 HP. In his memo he points out the difficulty experienced with the fitting and inspection of the new departure type and the failures that occur, and points out the advantage of the Skats type 054269 which is similar to that used on the Phantom II. It is intended to fit the Skats type on T series which leaves [illegible] 100 cars to be fitted with what may be faulty thrust races. We should strongly urge that these cars be fitted with the improved thrust race. Item (13) Telegauges. We have no further progress to report. The single line scheme has not yet been tried out. Item (14) Propeller shaft Joint. The Works have paid full attention to the fitting of the leather packing washer since our previous report which should prevent the failure and complaint of the loss of oil. A spring loaded scheme of the packing washer is undergoing try. He has got out a scheme to overcome the complaint of loss of oil from the front sliding joint. This scheme is to be tried out on the next 10,000 miles test. Item (15) Starter Motor Drives. We have no further progr[ess] Item (16) Petrol Tank Leaks. I have reported to [...] of petrol tank leaks.
