previous report.
Item (18) Fan Pulleys.

There is nothing further to report.

Item (19) Noisy Oil Pumps.

HIC. has carried out and given valuable assistance in curing this complaint. We believe that noisy oil pumps can now be cured by the simple fitting of a small reservoir in the feed pipe to the pump which entails very little expense This scheme is being fully tested out with the help of HX. and in the event of these tests substantiating the already known results, this complaint will cease. A full report has been issued by HAC. of the work done.

Item (20) Engine Overoiling, Piston knocks and Piston Seizures

As result of Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}' visit to U.S.A. the design of the Phantom piston is being gone over with a view of decreasing the tendency of piston knock. Hx. has done a considerable amount of work on the pistons to overcome the complaint. As previously reported the extra oil in conjunction with the starter carburetter will help considerably to overcome the seizure and knocks.

Item (21) Dynamo.

No progress made for cars in customers hands. A scheme is being tried out altering the charging rate due to the failure of the half charge scheme. The suggestion of turning the dynamo further round to make the control brush more accessible has not been dealt with. The trailing of the dynamo poles which in the past gave definite improvements is being deleted. We are of the opinion that this feature should be kept.

Item (22) Battery Box Suspension.

Depots have now received material and full instructions to deal with this complaint. The Works are producing the modified anchorage and battery box.

Item (23) Central Lubrication Failure.

This is being dealt with on the lines of our last report.

Item (24) Carburetter Troubles - Flooding Air Valve Pin

There is nothing further to report.
