Carless, Capel & Leonard - Petrol
Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/AD31.12.31 and C.3/C2.1.32

You will have gathered from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/AD31.12.31 the difficulties in testing out such Petrol as far as the Experimental Department is concerned, and you will now be able to satisfy Mr. Leonard on this point.

Meantime, as far as the production side of the Works is concerned, there is great disinclination to carry other brands of Petrol, especially as our requirements, due to restricted output, are now so much lower than usual.

It is probable, however, in the near future we shall be able to pass the Carless, Capel people an order for, say 1000 gallons, i.e. a Road Tank of 1000 gallons, this being, I understand, the minimum they can satisfactorily deliver to these Works; and if you are seeing Mr. Leonard shortly, perhaps you would kindly advise him accordingly.

ROY.{Sir Henry Royce}
