(1) Test the new oil retaining felt to see if the new arrangement cures the leak into the clutch pit. (2) Owing to the exhaust valve failure on Wraith in France a record of the valve temperature is required by means of the optical pyrometer. This should be checked with the standard Wraith III induction system, and should be done before any work on the new duplex carb system is attempted. Check by micrometer the expansion of the exhaust valve both when running open exhaust and with standard silencer. Both (1) and (2) should be regarded as our most urgent and immediate jobs and any investigation work on this that may help, other than what is mentioned here, should be carried out. Bentley Bed. B.19. We have instructed EJJ to convert this bed into Wraith, as it will, however be several days before this will be tackled, please fit B.19 unit. This unit has the following new parts:- (1) Production crank with 2 - .125 holes in crankpins. (2) Die cast AC.6 main brgs, billet cast AC.6 big ends. (3) New pistons and block. (4) 3 Exhaust valves in std.KE.965 with stellited seats and 3 with Brightray seats. | ||
