Will you please note that we have now completed all the chassis repairs on 10.B.V. car which has been used for some considerable time by Air Chief Marshall Harris. The car was taken to London for the necessary body repairs to be carried out on Sunday last March 26th by Mdx. The car has run 49,500 miles and considerably more work was carried out than specified on the Repair Order No.27311. We give herewith list of the work carried out together with all new parts fitted. ENGINE. New Cylinder Block EW.1923 fitted with all bores chromium plated 2" down from the top. 6 new Pistons EB.4587 fitted complete with Rings EB.4737/8/9, Gudgeon Pins EB.2845 and Gudgeon Pin Ends EB.2300. Connecting Rod Bearings and Main Crankshaft Bearings dismantled examined and found to be in good condition. These were refitted without alteration. Cylinder Head decarbonised and Valve Seats recut and Valves ground in. New Water Pump fitted complete to L.O.P. EW.1988. Old one worn out and leaking badly at the Gland. New Fan Pulley EB.3590 fitted. Deep grooves worn in old Pulley. New Fan Belt EK.1775 fitted. New Water Pipe EL.3578 from Water Pump to Induction Pipe Hot Spot fitted. New Petrol Pipes EH.4257/8 from Flexible Pipe on Frame to Carburetters fitted. Carburetters dismantled cleaned out and re-erected. Ignition distributor overhauled, new top bearing No.D.51499 and serated Driving Piece No. EW.1780 fitted. New Ignition Distributor contact points DW.872 and DW.417 fitted. New set of Ignition Wires fitted to L.O.P. EW.1288. -continued- | ||
