x306 K To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Copy to E.Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Re P.III Brakes. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}4/E27.1.36 There have been two brake failures on 35-Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} Reports of both have, I understand, been sent by Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} The second one was very serious and landed the car in a ditch. It might have been fatal; fortunately there was no one on the car other than our driver. The car hasbeen sent to Derby. I should like you to investigate the matter with the Design and Experimental Depts. and let me know what the technical explanation of these failures is and what is going to be done to remedy it. It sounds to me as if it were possible for something to fall out of place which of course is disastrous and makes one frightened to drive one of these cars. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} | ||
