| -3- HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}16/KW.26.10.35. (6) Size of Carburetter Throttle. A design has been received for overcoming this trouble. (7) Leaks from the Front Shock Absorbers. Modifications have been made and up to the present these appear to have been successful. (8) Chunking in the Drive. Experience on the Trials Car has proved that this feature is exceedingly irritating when a car is being demonstrated in London traffic. It has been aggravated by the clutch take-up not being smooth. It has been proved that if we make the gearbox to sufficiently fine limits we can completely eliminate the chunking, and have such a box running on an experimental car. Working to such limits, however, is going to put up the cost of the box, and we are endeavouring to find some other way out. The heavier flywheel is a definite improvement. For a given amount of slack in the gearbox this feature is still worse on any car we have previously produced than (9) Rear Axle Dither on Pave. Hancock is working on this trouble in France. (10) Bijur System. This is being rectified. (11) Damage by Stones. Steps have been taken to prevent this. | ||
