BY/HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} [crossed out] c. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} ------- F.J.H. 1152 DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/G.11.6.38. WRAITH III - CHANGE SPEED GEAR To overcome the complaints of knocking between the operating shaft and its bearing sleeve, due to the engine movement, in the Wraith change gear shaft, we have added to G.CD.331 two views, (1) shewing increased clearance using existing pieces, and (2) shewing an increase in diameter of the sleeve for future pieces. The increase of clearance is 50%. We suggest that scheme (1) should be tried out, using existing pieces, to see if the proposed increase is sufficient to overcome the trouble. If not, we can gain a little more on scheme (2). G.CD.331 re-issued herewith. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
