Jacks.

We are disappointed to see from BY/Mtn.20/N.14.8.36. that the new type Dunlop Jack is going to be put back for another 50 cars.

We should have thought it would have been possible by making an effort to avoid this state of affairs. You will recollect that on the 15th June Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} wrote and complained that the job had already taken 5 months; at that time the limiting factor was the supply of Jacks. Under pressure Dunlops came up to scratch remarkably well, and delivered a supply of jacks to their promised date. We now find that our pieces are behind.

At the present rate it looks as if it will be 12 months from the time the job first started till it reaches the customer.
