6026 6th March 1937. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wst.4/AP. Messrs Smith & Sons (Motor Accessories) Ltd., Cricklewood Works, LONDON N.W.2. For the attention of Mr.Dorer. Dear Sirs, With reference to your letter of the 3rd. inst. addressed to our Mr.Harvey-Bailey regarding the new bi-metal fuse for electric clocks, we should be glad if you will arrange to let us have two of these clocks for experimental test. After you have carried out preliminary tests at your works our tests on the chassis with the two clocks in question could proceed in parallel with your endurance test, thus accelerating standardisation of this new bi-metal fuse, which we feel sure would be preferable to the existing type. We should also like to know the position of the new electric clock with which you are experimenting, on the French Jaeger principle, as this would appear to be fundamentally better than the clock we are now testing. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
