102nd Meeting Clearance in universal joint on gear box. It had been agreed that the clearance for endways movement on the pins should be reduced to a total of .005." Mr. Bailey reported that on investigation he found that this was not possible by the present arrangement of limits. He suggested that the limits should be reduced to such an extent that in some cases of particular combinations of the variations it would be necessary to perform a certain amount of fitting. He also had some experiments in hand with reference to the lubrication of this part. The Committee agreed that pending the results of these experiments, the limits on the bushes etc. should be modified as suggested. | ||
