To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}5/MJ.24.2.33. BENSPORT. Replying to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}4/E.22.2.33. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} was not correct in his report when he said that Bensport is fitted with the latest N.Scheme quiet second speed. Actually, this car has part of the N.Scheme but has not the complete scheme because it was not ready in time. The Peregrine car which is running in France has the complete scheme and so far has given no trouble with the gear working out. We expect next week to have a 25 HP. gearbox with this latest arrangement. This arrangement is the one which has been instructed for production on 25 HP. cars. Until we have tested it we will not know for certain, but we believe we shall find the parts as instructed will be alright in this respect. Bensport Steering Wheel. We have asked HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} to hold up the ordering of this part. There should be no difficulty in getting it modified to anything you wish. We do not think there should be any difficulty in applying a stone guard to the Bensport radiator. There are plenty of examples on cars running about with similar fittings. Petrol Pumps. The modified crankcase which is being put through with the altered dynamo drive is also arranged so that we can have a mechanical petrol pump in place of the electrical one. We anticipate therefore that the Bensport car will have a mechanical pump similar to that fitted on Peregrine. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
