Dear Sirs,

For the attention of
Mr. Salt,
Experimental Dept.

We suggested to Mr. Howlett of Wellworthy that it would be appropriate to meet here and discuss the present position in regard to bearing materials, and experimental bearing sets which have been made for various commercial vehicle manufacturers.

Can you arrange one day next week, and if so, will you suggest a day?

You will have heard from Wellworthy that they have had trouble with AC.9 material, and the Dennis people prefer to go on with bearings in AC.6. The writer was at Leyland a fortnight ago, and the Leyland Co. were of the same opinion, that is, that they would prefer to have bearings in AC.6 alloy in view of the fact that they have done so successfully in the experimental engines.

We should like your comments on this point at your early convenience.

Yours faithfully,
For and on behalf of
HIGH DUTY ALLOYS LTD.
