2. Method:- Incidentally, this will be far and away the quickest "through" motor journey ever accomplished and should thus arouse a considerable amount of enthusiasm. But the whole atmosphere surrounding the run is just that the Rolls-Royce provides the most luxurious way of "Getting there" and that the excellent time made is quite normal for such a car. The run will also show convincingly that a Rolls-Royce is not only built for good roads but goes equally well on bad roads or desert tracks, and is thus suitable for ceremonial use for Governors of Provinces, etc. No part of the route, however, is of a "chassis breaking" character. Given ordinary care, no trouble whatever should be experienced. Route:- Passes through France, Algeria, Sahara, Nigeria, French Equatorial Africa, Belgian Congo, Uganda and Kenya Colony. Publicity:- Passing through a good deal of British territory, the run would have considerable 'Imperial' interest and should thus be good 'news' for London and Provincial papers, and, for instance, India and Australian and New Zealand newspapers. I write for the five leading South African newspapers, to whom I have already mentioned the project without referring to any specified make of car. They are most interested and will publish a Full Story of the run in several successive issues. The London 'Sunday Times' and 'The Sketch' will of course take a full story from me weekly, and 'The Autocar' and 'The Motor' will obviously do so. I can also arrange for the leading Daily and Provincial papers to deal with the run in England. continued | ||
