To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} x7960 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/KW. 25.5.34. 104-MY. Referring to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}21/E25.5.34, the larger petrol tank and gauge are now ready and we can fit them any time the car is available. With regard to the silent tappets, the reason we suggested fitting Halford type tappets and not the Cadillac scheme was because the majority of the Cadillac tappets have been made for the Vulture head; we do not want to put a Vulture head on your car as it would make it unpleasantly rough. We are pushing some sets through for the standard head but these will not be available for some little time. The Halford tappets goes straight on a standard car. We agree, however, that since we do not intend to fit the Halford tappet to the 40/50 there is not much object in fitting them to 104-MY.
