SCHEME NO.III. DRAWING OFFICE. In this scheme the Drawing Office staff would be larger than in Schemes Nos. I and II, and would produce, in addition to initial drawings for samples, final lay-outs and detail drawings. The specifications would also be complete in detail. WORKS FACILITIES. The experimental shop would make the models for approval, and assemble the first production bodies, which could be used for testing, and samples passed to the bodybuilders for reference. Under this scheme it would be necessary to make production assembly jigs which would be issued to the bodybuilders after being proved. Additional woodworking and panel welding equipment machines would be required to those set out in Scheme No.1. Purchasing Department. This department would function on similar lines to Scheme No.1 but with the addition that an increased number of parts could be dealt with. PROCEDURE. In addition to the preliminary work mentioned in Scheme No.1 detail drawings would be supplied to the panel manufacturers and to all suppliers of components from whom samples would be supplied to you for approval, and when approved would be used for producing samples bodies which would be used for testing, and bodybuilders' samples which you would assemble in your Works. | ||
