RE THREE CELLS, TWO FROM 21PE-MIGNALL- AND ONE FROM 120AE-REIGERSBERG- SENT TO US FOR INSPECTION

We have examined and tested these cells.

Of the two belonging to 21 PE, one of these is definitely short circuited, though the plates are fairly good; in the other cell an obvious short circuit is not apparent, but since the plates appear to be reasonably good and the fact remains that the cells will not hold their charge (we have not been able to get this to give more than about 3 ampere-hours) we think there must be some invisible short circuit, so that we think in the case of these two cells they can be considered the Chloride Company's responsibility.

With regard to the cells from 120 AE, we do not find anything wrong with these, but a slight reduction in capacity due to having been in use for some time, and we do not think in this instance it can be considered the Chloride Company's responsibility.

We are returning the cells to your Dept.
