VISIT TO CRICKLEWOOD. The intention of my visit was to ascertain whether the present production cars were giving less trouble in service and to obtain the chief faults noted. The following is a summary of the points investigated. PHANTOMS. The chief faults are :- (1) Front silencers cracking up after two years in service. (2) Fabric couplings. Still not satisfactory, fail after approx. 20,000 miles (3) Dynamos. Failure of rear bearing and sticking of brushes. (4) Inefficient brakes. Due to oil getting on the servo. (5) Small silencer for hot spot carburetter corroding. 25 H.P. (1) Engine gear rattles still not satisfactory with the fitting of the brake on the dynamo drive. (2) Dynamos. Failure of rear bearing and sticking of brushes. (3) Change speed lever rattles. ------------ These troubles are being dealt with in the following manner :- | ||
