Re Scintilla Dynamo & Regulator
and Magneto. (and Magneto is struck through)

This is to confirm the arrangements made with your representative Mr. Byrne during his visit to our Works on the 13th inst.

Regarding the 110 watt Scintilla dynamo and regulator unit, as we explained to Mr. Byrne, we have not obtained very satisfactory results with this to date, although for the time being the investigations are put aside for other more urgent work.

Our troubles with this unit were :-

(1) The connections of the unit were found, after losing considerable time, not to agree with those given on your diagram LU 13347 sent to us.

(2) The auxiliary relay intended to change the operation from approximately constant current control to approximately constant voltage control, when the voltage of the system rises to nearly 16, we found did not operate until the P.D. across its terminals
