PHANTOM STEERING.
----------------
With reference to complaints in connection with the original type Phantom steering, there are two ways which at the moment it is considered desirable to deal with customers in this connection:-

In the first place, it is suggested for use in England we should fit lighter springs only in the side steering tube. The springs in question to be 1500 lbs. ins. Piece No. F.74422. These should certainly overcome any complaints in regard to steering, for cars used in this Country. I would also like to remark that a number of cars have been treated in this way even in France, and the customers have been quite satisfied.

In the case of customers who use their cars on the Continent, or who have proved themselves to be habitual grumblers in this Country, it would be necessary to change the ratio of the steering by fitting a new worm and nut, the lead of the worm and nut being .940, and the piece numbers of the parts are :- F.73600/1. With this combination of nut and worm it has been found preferable to use springs in the side steering of 1500 lbs. ins, F.74422.
