Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

Dear Sirs,

The six connecting rods mentioned in your letter of October 18th have now been received, and will be put on test as soon as some experiments which are on hand at the moment are completed.

We anticipate this will be within the course of the next ten days, and we will advise you more definitely later on so that you can arrange for one of your engineers to visit us.

With regard to the drilling of the oil hole in the top half of the bearing shell, we would advise you that this is unnecessary as we are not arranging to pressure feed the small end of the connecting rod.

Will you, therefore, please delete this hole from the remaining six connecting rods.

Yours faithfully,
p.p. LEYLAND MOTORS LIMITED.

[Signature of V.W. Pilkington]

Chief Engineer.
