I have been reading through the 10,000 mile report Ref: Es/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}6/JAE.2.11.35 and attach copy of memo. sent to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}

The points to which I refer, which appear to need your attention, are as follows:

Rear Engine Bearing - I do not like to see a reference to a 'usual leak' and one which has the effect of leaving a pool of oil on the floor. Cannot we cure this?

Engine Side Trays and Front Guard. You will see it says that they are flimsy, have broken off up, that the method of fastening is unsatisfactory, inaccessible and one of the worst features of the car. Cannot we get this right, please?

Gearbox. You will see it refers to a constant weep from the bearing of the swinging arm which covers the whole of the servo linkage etc. This appears to require attention.

Front Axle Controls. You will see it saysthat the bearings are not adequate to take the thrust etc.and that this matter has been reported on every car we have had but apparently nothing has been done to cure it. This seems to require your attention.

Front Bumper Bar. In view of the previous trouble we have had with front bumper bars falling off on Bentley's and the expense we have gone to in changing fittings on cars already delivered, I am very much concerned to see what GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} says about this latest outfit. It is hardly necessary for me to stressonce more that, if a bumper bar falls off when travelling at speed, the result would inevitably be a fatal accident. We have had to standardize this heavy stabiliser bar on the Bentley to get over another trouble and we must fit it up so that it is not liable to fall off.
