Purpose: To reduce noise and improve idling. Brief Report and Remarks: Has completed 11,000 miles in 6.B.IV. When recommended for Introduction: 1st in M Report References: By: Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} Increase in Cost & No Difference: GRL 29/3/38 Cost of Tools: £120.0.0d. Production Position and Comments: Camshafts with modified cam forms are instructed to be introduced on 1st. Bentley in 'M' series. Manufacturing charges will not be effected. Standard camshafts EB.2746 were released for the whole of 'M' series, 59 of which have progressed too far to convert to the later design and will therefore be rendered scrap at a cost of £68.
